Non Com POPs Project
Global Programme to demonstrate the viability and removal of barriers that impede adoption and successful implementation of available non-combustion technologies for destroying Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in the Philippines
PROJECT FRAMEWORK
The project is realised with the participation of all stakeholders representing the following groups:

The government of the Philippines represented by DENR/EMB ensuring the successful implementation of the project and activities leading to fulfilment of the Stockholm Convention's requirement
- Donor organisation - GEF - through UNIDO
- Operating entity
- Private Sector
- NGOs
The Project Steering Committee (PSC) has been established during the preparatory phase of the project, which will monitor the overall progress during the project implementation, make recommendations regarding ways in which the project could be more effectively implemented, identify lessons learned, problems encountered and generally assist the Programme Coordinator (PC) and National Project Manager (NPM) on any and all matters related to the implementation of the demonstration activities in the Philippines.
The PSC is composed of the following members:
- The Government of the Philippines - DENR/EMB
- UNIDO
- Environmental Health Fund (EHF)
- Philippines Alternative Fuel Corporation (PAFC) as operating entity
- Department of Energy (DOE)
- Local NGOs represented by Greenpeace South East Asia (Philippines)
- Programme Coordinator
- National Project Manager
